MITO INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL
Third edition of this International music festival, with more than 200 events in Turin and Milan. A packed programme of concert dates featuring some of the world’s best orchestras, top jazz and contemporary composers and musicians, open-air performances, night-time concerts, musical marathons, new wave pop and rock concerts, talks, conferences and performances for children, with over half of the events free of charge and the other half with tickets at very reasonable prices. The festival’s special guest country this year is Japan, offering an In-depth view into Japanese music.

CINEMAINSTRADA
THE PEOPLE’S STREET FILM FESTIVAL

Cinemainstrada will transform 4 of the city’s piazzas, in ethnical areas of the city, into open-air cinemas! Films will be by directors from the different countries of the local inhabitants (Morocco, Romania, Peru, China, Senegal, Italy), will all be in original language with Italian subtitles.
Screenings will be accompanied by a series, of concerts, musical performances, talks with film directors and some of the big names in film. A great opportunity to all get together and celebrate the different cultures that make the city what it is today, through the language of film.

AMONG THOSE WALKERS I’M BOUND TO FIND MY PHOTOGRAPHER
The Confucio Institute in Turin, the High Study Centre of Contemporary China and the Chinese Student Union have designed a photography competition for Chinese and Italian university students both in Italy and China. Photographs should portray each students perception of the other country, so Italians portray their image of China and vice-versa.

New holders of the carta sconto’ cinema card can take advantage of a special offer. By buying the 2009 card at the special price of 12 Euros, they can then buy the 2010 card for the same price in sixteen months time. A 30% discount for sixteen months at nearly all the city’s cinemas (excluding the Multiplex chain), as well as numerous extra benefits.

EUROPEAN JEWISH CULTURE DAY
Sunday 6 September offers the chance to discover more about the Jewish culture, which is established all over Europe.
