GIORNO DELLA MEMORIA (MEMORIAL DAY)
On the 27 of January 1945, the gates of Auschwitz were torn down: symbolically, on this day, Italy remembers the Jewish population who were subject to the horrors of being taken off to concentration camps, witness to and victims of the extermination and persecution of their population. Once again in Turin this year, the city presents a line up of events, commemoration ceremonies, films, talks and performances; among these is the Anne Frank exhibition at the Museo diffuso della Resistenza, until 31 March 2010, which will display extracts from her acclaimed Diary. The museum will prolong its opening times especially for the exhibition and will stay open till 8 pm.
